2023 | DINNER 2 – HARD TO DIGEST.

we hosted this second culinary experience within the und.wieder gallery that we have redecorated for the occasion. The topic was kinda hard to digest. Our aim with “digest” was to talk, eat and bring awareness around the topic of Irritable Bowel Syndrome like the Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitisa. A topic close to our heart and gut, touching people in our close surrounding and beyond.

what's a common misconception about a chronic illness that you'd like to clear up? how might IBD impact a person's daily life and activities, such as work or social events? how openly do you talk about digestion? have you ever had an embarrassing incident related to your digestive issues? Do you take measures in (public) bathrooms to make people close by not notice that you are pooing?

the menu. 4 courses.
The idea was to create a menu that could be enjoyed by both people touched by the disease and non. Our patterned 4-courses structure therefore menu, plant-based, was now turned around following the course of the digestive track offering both option “digest” low fodmap and “non (so) digest” featuring ingredients such as garlic and chickpeas.

in your mouth where it starts. offering the first “triggering” question at the same time
in your throat to warm up.
in your belly a sharing plate taking the shape of a bowel. we provided participants with testimonials from individuals affected by the disease, which they read out loud during this part.
in your gut even lower than the gut. with a sumptuous chocolaty dessert plated in front of the participants.
It is far from easy to discuss topics like digestion and bowel movements around the table, especially with strangers, unless you happen to be a nurse—wink wink to one of our lovely participants. However, this table was special and exceptional. Once again, people from various ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds came together, sharing and listening to each other with remarkable care. Laughter filled the air as they expressed themselves with genuine openness and warmth.

2024 | DINNER 6 – TO BE SUSTAINABLY GROUNDED.

The environment is everywhere—woven into the fabric of our lives and yet so often avoided in deeper conversations. For this dinner, we chose to explore the Earth with intimacy and curiosity, creating a space where guests could reflect on their role in its future. In a world filled with noise, we wanted to bring the focus back to the quiet urgency of our planet’s story.

2023 | DINNER 3 – SEX. SELF.

sex. what a broad topics. their is the personal part of sex, sexualities, the “bad” part of sex… focus on such a topic is much required. hence, as a first facette of this topic, we chose to focus on the “sex, self” part. our own relation with sex as a practice, as an instrument, as a relation.

2024 | DINNER 4 – A FEAST FOR THE AGES.

Aging is a journey we all share, yet it often remains shrouded in stigma and silence. Inspired by a conversation with someone twice our age, we delved into the evolution of the body, perceptions, and generational dynamics. This dinner was designed to spark a meaningful exploration of aging through the lenses of food, conversation, and shared experience.

2024 | DINNER 5 – NOURISHMENT FOR THE MIND

Mental health touches all of us, yet it often hides in the shadows, wrapped in stigma or discomfort. For this Dinner, we wanted to change that. Inspired by conversations within our community, we crafted an evening that brought mental health to the table—literally and figuratively. It was a space to reflect, connect, and explore the complexities of our minds together.
